Pattera is a versatile piano and music theory teacher,

also currently a Manager of Yamaha Music Academy Thailand, who is especially interested in the enhancement of students’ wellbeing through music education. With 15 years of teaching experience, she has worked with particularly diverse groups of students, ranging from children with special needs, pre-schoolers, and seniors with dementia.

Her previous working experiences include assisting the board of curriculum and teaching development at New Frontier Music Academy. She has received awards for helping her students achieve the highest examination marks and top prizes in national competitions. Many of her students in Bangkok and London achieved merit and distinction marks from grade examinations and received music scholarship from renowned institutions.

Pattera made her Singapore debut at the Esplanade Hall in 2004, where she represented Thailand and performed her own composition. She has won the first prize in the U-12 Piano Duet (2004), U-15 Piano Solo (2008) and U-20 Piano Solo (2010) categories at the Yamaha Thailand Music Festival. She also won the second prize at the Asia Electone Festival in 2007. Pattera also received the Exhibition award for achieving Asia-Pacific’s highest mark in the Grade-6 piano examination offered by Trinity Guildhall. She has performed in masterclasses for Prof Dr Martin Widmaier, Dr Peter Amstutz, Jacqueline Leung and Artas Balakauskas. Her former teachers also include Jun Komatsu, Prof Dr Narongrith Dhammabutr and Assist Prof Dr Denny Euprasert.

Born into a non-musical family…

Pattera began her musical studies at the age of 4 at Yamaha Music School. Shortly after, she was selected to study in the Junior Special Advanced Course and Special Advanced Course taught by Yamaha. She successfully completed Grade-5 examinations in piano performance, electone performance and fundamental skills, as well as Grade-4 fundamental skills and piano performance examinations from Yamaha. She also completed the advanced certificate examination from Trinity Guildhall, London.

Pattera graduated from the Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts program with distinction in piano performance and composition from Chulalongkorn University, where she studied with Prof Dr Tongsuang Israngkul and Prof Dr Weerachart Premananda. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Best GPAX Award and Academic Excellence scholarship.

Later on, she pursued a Master of Science degree in Music Mind and Brain at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she focused her studies on music cognition, cognitive neuroscience, computational modelling, music education and music therapy. Her dissertation topic: “Do people know what music they like? Predicting changes in listeners’ music preferences,” was supervised by Prof Dr Daniel Müllensiefen and Manuel Anglada-Tort. Pattera has also completed the Foundation of Music Therapy course at the University of Roehampton. She additionally completed short courses in music education from several leading institutions, including Foundation of Dalcroze Method at Dalcroze UK, Creative Music Training for Young People at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Sound of Intent Framework for Autism at Soundabout Education Centre, Community Music Practice: Working with people with dementia and disabled people at Goldsmiths and Introduction to Performing Arts Medicine at University College London.

Since 2022, Pattera has been pursuing the Doctoral Degree (DFA) in music composition at Chulalongkorn University.

  • First lesson

    At the age of four, her parents took her to do a ballet lesson. Thanks to the school staff who encouraged her to try a music lesson so that was the beginning of Pattera’s music journey.

  • Happy Day

    is her first composition that she composed when she was only 6 years old. It was performed by electone with an accompaniment part on piano by her teacher, Mrs. Setsuko Kojirapan.

  • The little fighters

    is her composition for piano duet which was performed by her sister, Pantera Sutanthavibul. It was selected as a representative of Thailand to perform in Asia Oceania Junior Original Concert 2004 at Esplanade hall, Singapore.

    In the same year, Pattera and her sister won first prize of piano duet in Yamaha Thailand Music Festival.

  • Beyond Tsunami

    is originally composed for Trio, piano , electone and sor (Thai traditional instrument). It was rearranged for Electone solo and performed at Asia Electone Festival 2007 which she won the second prize.

  • Pattera in red

    One of her fun facts is that every time she put on a red dress for a competition, she won the prize. So don’t be surprised if you see Pattera in fifty shades of red dresses as she finds that it is her lucky colour :P

  • Music VDO Ads

    In 2009, Pattera and her sister were selected to perform in music VDO advertisement “I Play Yamaha” with Thai pianist, Tor Saksit and young pianists over the country.

    One of little pianists in this VDO had become her student in 10 years later. What a coincidence!

  • YTMF

    had been an important part of her life. Pattera had participated for 10 years in piano solo, piano duet and electone solo.

    She won the first prize in 2004 (piano duet), 2008 (piano solo) and 2010 (piano solo) and also won the first runner-up in 2007 (electone solo) and 2009 (piano solo).

  • University life

    In junior year, Pattera was awarded as a vice president of Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts student association. On the top of that, she received Best GPAX Award and Academic excellence scholarship.

  • Deutsch lernen

    One of her serious hobbies is learning new languages especially German. Pattera spent 4 years and passed B1 certificate from Goethe institute. She also attended intensive summer course in Munich, Germany.
